Hello,
Since I did a post of books that I really enjoyed in 2017 I figured that I would also do a post about books that didn’t hold my interest as much as I thought they would.
I really wanted to enjoy this book but it took me a lot longer than I thought it would and while i did rate it pretty high, I Just didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the other books in the series. I would still recommend it though if you are a fan of this series.
2. Planet Urth (#1) by Jennifer Martucci & Christopher Martucci:
This one was for free on Amazon at one point so I thought I would try it but it wasn’t quite as good as I thought it would be.
3. Fallen (#1) by Lauren Kate:
I first read this one when I was still in high school and while I thought it was ok, I could never get through more than a couple of chapters of the second book so i thought i would reread this one this year but it did take me a lot longer than I thought it would to finish this one. I also ended up taking the series off my shelf so I don’t know if I will ever get to it or not.
4. The Edge of everything (#1) by Jeff Giles:
i received this one from Netgalley for review and while it was good and I loved the characters I wasn’t too fond of the romance but there was a lot of action in the story. I may still pick up the second one when it comes out though.
5. Privilege (#1) by Kate Brian:
I thought this one would be good but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought it would. It was a fast read though.
6. Firstlife (#1) by Gena Showalter:
I listened to this one as an audio book and I didn’t really enjoy it as much. I may still see if I can get a physical copy to see if I like it better.
7. Fury of the seventh son (#13) by Joseph Delaney:
I really enjoyed the first 9 books in this series but after that it kind of went downhill after even though I really wanted to enjoy it. I am glad that I finished this series though.
8. Ashes to ashes (#3) by Jenna Han & Siobhan Vivian:
I really wanted to enjoy this trilogy but this book was definitely a lot darker than I thought it would be. I am glad that I read it though as it helped with a lot of challenges on Goodreads that I am working on.
9. Dreams of Gods & Monsters (#3) by Laini Taylor:
This was another one that I wanted to enjoy but ended up not really liking it. I loved the first books in this trilogy and thought they were really good but I thought this one was too long and kind of dragged for me in some parts. It was a good way to end the trilogy though.
10. The girl from the well (#1) by Rin Chupeco:
This was an interesting story and while I did like it, the writing style got me in this one. It also took me a really long time to finish.
11. The evaporation of Sofi Snow (#1) by Mary Weber:
This was another that could have been really good but I had a hard time liking it. I may still read the second one to see if it gets better.
12. Inescapable (#1) by Amy A. Bartol:
I read Under the stars (#1) last year so I’d thought I would try another book by this author. I really didn’t enjoy this as much but I did help with a few challenges on Goodreads though.
So this is my list of books that I didn’t like or were just meh. Since I am still reading a lot of books there may be a few that could get added to this list.
Marybeth
