Hello, It has been a long time since I have updated on here so I thought I would give a quick update for October and November. This is going to be relatively short as both months are going to be extremely busy for me with school but I plan to catch up in December when I am done with exams. In November I have a lot of big projects coming up so I will be working to catch up on some things and working on assignments as well. I haven’t read any books since September when I finished Obsidio (#3) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff and the rose & the dagger (#2) by Renee Ahdieh. Both were very good though I haven’t really been able to pick up anything since. I think I went into a small reading slump right after I finished reading those and haven’t really been able to come out of it since. I did pick up a couple of books, including my most anticipated book of the year, Kingdom of ash (#7) by Sarah J. Maas, but I’ve only been able to read a few chapters so far. I’m hoping that things will calm down soon though and that I will be able to get out of this reading slump that I am in. I’m not sure how much reading I will be able to do in November but I am hoping to finish at least 1 book.
Total amount of books read in September: 2
The Rose & The dagger (#2) by Renee Ahdieh – I definitely enjoyed this one more than The Wrath & the Dawn in this duology. It did take me a while to get into but once I did I couldn’t put it down. I would definitely recommend both books in this duology (4 stars).
Obsidio (#3) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – I think I enjoyed the first book, Illuminae better than the last two but I still enjoyed Gemina and Obsidio. It took me a little longer than I thought it would to get through Obsidio but I still enjoyed it and think it ended well. This is a trilogy that I would highly recommend as well (4 stars).
These were the two books that I read in September> Unfortunately I wasn’t able to read anything in October and I might not be able to finish anything in November, but I’m hoping to finish at least 1 book in November. I plan to catch up in December though as I have about a month of school off before I have to go back to school for the Spring semester.
November TBR:
- A conspiracy of Kings (#4) by Megan Whalen Turner – This series is definitely one of my favorite fantasy series. I was a little skeptical when I picked up the first book but I have loved every book so far and am looking forward to continuing this series to see how it ends.
- Kingdom of Ash (#7) by Sarah J. Maas – This is my most anticipated book of the year and I am super excited to finally start it. I’ve read a few chapters so far and its really good though it might be a while before I pick it up again due to school.
- Holding up the universe by Jennifer Niven – Niven is definitely one of my favorite authors in contemporary romance so I’m definitely looking forward to reading this one.
Some of these books will probably carry over into December as I am not sure how much reading I will be able to do in November but I will definitely have them started. I’m also not sure of how much I will be able to post in November but December will definitely be a month where I will catch up on both reading and blogging.
Hope you have a good week,
Marybeth
