It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at the bookdate. This is where you can talk about what you have read, what you are currently reading, and what you are about to read.

Hello,

It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these and I was able to finish some books over the weekend, so I’d thought I would post an update. I finished school last Monday and I was able to rest on Tuesday and Wednesday before I headed to work on Thursday. I also worked on Sunday and today but I’m off tomorrow, so I’ll probably spend the day catching up on reading again. I’ve got some things to do on Wednesday before I go back into work on Thursday but I’m hoping to get some more books read by then.

Books I’ve read:

The Final Empire (#1) by Brandon Sanderson:

The final empire (#1) by Brandon Sanderson

This one was really good and one of my top ten fantasy books of the year though there were times where it was just a little slow. I loved all of the characters and the world building was really good though. I’m really excited to pick up the second book at some point (4.5/5 stars).

Dreamfall (#1) by Amy Plum:

I really enjoyed this one though the change in characters confused me just a little bit at the beginning, though once I got into the story I thought it was really good. This one was a really fast read for me and I’m looking forward to picking up the second book as well (4 stars).

Above the waterfall by Ron Rash:

This is my first book by this author and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. It was definitely a fast read though I didn’t realize that it was going to be a mystery until I started reading it. I kind of went into this one blind which is a good thing though because it made me more curious about it. I’m probably going to read more by this author at some point. Overall, I would recommend it though (4 stars).

Currently reading:

City of Bones (#1) by Cassandra Clare:

I’m not entirely sure what made me decide to pick this series up but its definitely one of my favorites. I’m not sure if I’m going to reread the entire series yet, but I might.

Wings of the wicked (#2) by Courtney Allison Moulton:

Oh boy, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this one yet. I’m almost halfway through and I’ve already gone through different emotions while reading it. There are times where I really enjoy it and look forward to reading about the characters and the action, but then there are other times where I don’t like it quite as much. I’m just not sure how I feel about it yet. Overall, I do enjoy it and the mystery of Ellie’s past is really interesting as well.

Seven Ways we lie by Riley Redgate:

This is another one that I”m not entirely sure about either. Overall, it’s okay though I don’t really know how I feel about it yet. I”m hoping to finish it over the next couple of days though.

Right where I belong by Krista McGee:

So far I’m really enjoying this one. I’ve only read a few chapters so far but I’m hoping to make some progress with it this week

What I’m about to Read:

Now I rise (#2) by Kiersten White

A Christmas bride (#1) by Hope Ramsay

Smoke and iron (#4) by Rachel Caine

The murder complex (#1) by Lindsay Cummings

So this is what I have planned for this week. I’m hoping to make a lot of progress with most of these though I’m not entirely sure if I will be able to get to all of them.

I hope you have a good week!
